I tried OG Tacos 5 years ago, and have been trying to find a quessabirria taco that can even come close, and I can't. These are hands down the best tacos I've ever had, and if you haven't tried them, they'll be the best tacos you've ever had. What sets OG Tacos apart, is their consistency in texture of meat and loads of cheese, plus the best sauces make it a hit! I eat these about once a week from the Antioch Flea Market since I just live down the street.

I'm almost hesitant to write this review as this place already has lines longer than a Disneyland ride during its busiest times. However, I must do it for the benefit of the foodie community. Simply put: OG tacos were some of the first players on the quesabirria trend and are the only people to have perfected it. Let me paint you a story of how they're ahead of everyone else in the birria game. It first started as quesabirria tacos. It was the only place to succesfully achieve all 3 major marks of a perfect quesabirria taco experience: the crunchy outer shell, the juicy beef, and the exemplary consome dipping soup. Then the mad lads created the quesabirria quesadillas and slapped them on their secret menu. How could they have been so unorthodox, yet so pioneering and innovative. Next came the birria burritos. How they kept shoving birria in different forms was sign of a true birria king. However, it all changed when along came the Tapatio birria ramen. If heaven existed on earth, it lives right next to Epidemic Ales because good lord is the food truly amazing here. So if you're thinking about going to other places for quesabirria (e.g., el fuego, tacos el patron, la santa torta, el garaje, la grana fish, aguachiles el tamarindo), I'd tell you to STOP right what you're doing, put down the Yelp app you're using for research, and head straight to Los Originales (only available Monday, Friday, and Saturday, sigh).

At the Antioch flea market on Saturdays! This food stall had the LONGEST line by far at 10:30am! Nothing wrong with a few quesabirria tacos for breakfast to kickstart the weekend. At $3.75 per taco, these babies are loaded with shredded beef and melty cheese, then nestled in two crispy taco shells. One filled me up! I really had to hold back on diving into the second. Get a free consommé to dip when you buy three tacos, so of course you have to get at least three. No outdoor seating available, so I wolfed it down in the car, which was a very precarious thing to do with all the liquids in the mix: consommé, salsas, and drippy grease. Have those napkins at the ready!

My brother-in-law took my Fiance and me out for a night of drinks at Epidemic Ales. We haven't been here in a few years and boy have things change! (for the better of course) I'm sure many things have changed since we last visited, but with Covid going on, it forced them to have the tables outside which is a nice touch. I'm glad we decided to drink here because Los Originales was the food vendor for the night and damn was the food on point that night. First things first, Los Originales took my Birria Tacos virginity and this will be an experience that I'll remember for the rest of my life! What a special moment in my life! The crunchy taco shell with the meat drenched in sauce, plus whatever sauce that is on top is just an explosion of all things amazing in a taco. If I were forced to eat one thing for the rest of my life, it's this. How can something this amazing be introduced to me in 2020? My fiance doesn't eat red meat so she had a quesadilla and even that was amazing. Probably the best quesadilla I've ever tasted. Overall the food here is a perfect combo with Epidemic Ale's beer. Hopefully, we can go back to doing this because I'm going to need my fix real soon.

Read the hype about people outside of San Francisco waiting in long lines for the famed Quesabirras. I was so pleased to stumble across this stand at Emperor Norton's Holiday Bazaar with just one person in line ahead of me. Definitely enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't brave anything longer than a 5-10 minute wait for them. Quesabirras: Ok, I'm a fan. Way back as a little kid the French Dip sandwich started my love of dipping main courses in liquid. Now there's a taco version! Not just any taco, but a double layer crispy taco overloaded with cheese and stewed beef. The dipping soup is very rich and umami. Unlike bread, however, the crispy tortilla doesn't absorb that much liquid, so I find it best to chase each dipping with a sip directly from the consomme. Probably best if you're not sharing though, else the other person will get weirded out.
